学科建设是医院发展的重要基石。为进一步促进医院胸外科发展，2013年2月20日，由殷继东副院长、李天兴副院长带队，科教科、胸外科负责人一行5人，前往上海市肺科医院参观考察，并就双方建立协作医院相关事宜进行沟通交流。上海市肺科医院院长费苛、党委书记张雷及相关职能科室负责人参加了接待。首先由费苛院长代表上海市肺科医院对我院的到访表示热烈欢迎，并介绍了上海市肺科医院的发展历史，重点介绍了胸外科的发展建设情况。上海市肺科医院胸外科是上海市医学重点专科，其临床、科研、教学水平均居国内领先水平。
接着，我院殷继东副院长从医院规模、学科结构、发展方向等几方面对我院的情况作了简要介绍，并阐明了此次前往肺科医院参观考察的目的，旨在与肺科医院建立协作医院关系，协作内容主要包括上海肺科医院定期选派专家来我院进行技术指导、教学查房、学术讲座；在科研方面对我院给予指导和帮助；选派我院专业技术人员到上海肺科医院进修学习；以技术协作为契机，开展高水平的学术交流活动，提高我院的学术地位和社会影响力等。
通过寻求技术协作，促进学科建设，对于医院内强素质、外树形象，必将起到积极的推动作用。从而保障医院以精湛的医术，良好的医德医风，为人民群众健康服务。
